Kosel: Hotels and Accommodation

Kosel is situated in a hilly landscape strongly shaped by glacial processes. In addition, there are four inland lakes with a combined area of more than 50 hectares, as well as around 20 kilometres of shoreline along the Schlei.

Nature and Trails

A historic walking and cycling trail leads through Kosel and its surroundings. From a viewpoint in the village centre, you can see the pastor’s widow’s house, the vicarage, the old smithy, Koseler Hof and the former Kroymann School.

Ten information boards along the cycling and hiking trails explain the history of the municipality. Some of these trails are also suitable for Nordic walking. A hiking trail also follows the cliff edge of the Großen Breite.

The Schlei and Connections

The Netzausleger in Kosel or Missunde is located at the narrowest point of the Schlei. It is considered a rest stop on a cycling tour that crosses the Schlei. The Missunde ferry operates between Missunde in Kosel and Brodersby, connecting the regions of Angeln and Schwansen. It carries pedestrians, bicycles and cars.

History and Culture

Kosel’s archaeological heritage includes traces of settlement from the Viking Age, including excavated settlement sites in the western and eastern parts of the village. In Bohnert, the summer open-air art and cultural event “Under the Sky of Bohnert” is associated with the village.

Restaurants, pubs, cafés and inns can be found in Kosel and the surrounding Kosel municipalities.
