Bialy Grunt: Hotels and Accommodations

Biały Grunt is a village whose history dates back to 1788. It was founded on newly cleared land in the Korpelskie Forests. In 1938, the village’s official name was changed to Weißengrund as part of a Germanization campaign.

For the municipality of Świętajno, the public transport stop directory lists a stop named “Biały Grunt 01”.

Culture

The final event of the project “Chodź opowiem Ci pewną historię” took place in Biały Grunt. The village community hall hosted the event “Teatr przy stoliku”, during which Pierre Sauvil’s play “Serce dla dwojga” was read.

At the “Dziedzictwo Mazurskiej Łąki” event, local painter Andrzej Zawrotny led a painting workshop and presented an exhibition of works from an plein-air painting project. In the “Zielarska chatka”, natural bath salts were made under the guidance of Alicja Zęgota.

Culinary workshops also took place in Biały Grunt. One workshop focused on yeast ingredients or yeast, and Wrocław rolls were baked. During a second culinary workshop, goulash soup was prepared together.

At the “Biesiada Myśliwska z EKOwspólnotą „Dzik kontra Świnia“” event, Biały Grunt took first place among the villages of the municipality of Świętajno in the “Chłopski garnek” culinary competition. In the “Czas na Pulpeta” competition for pork meatballs, Biały Grunt took third place at the same event.

Several pottery workshops focused on different stages of the process: participants worked on the potter’s wheel and by hand, made flat objects, plates, and coasters, and glazed their works during a third workshop.
