Schönhagen: Hotels and Accommodations

The Westensee Loop connects wooded and open landscapes in the vicinity of Schönhagen around a lake measuring approximately 700 hectares. The lake is designated as an FFH area; the eastern part of the lake, the Eider tributary, and Lake Ahrensee are also designated as bird protection and nature conservation areas.

Schönhagen Estate was formerly a tenant farm of Bossee Estate; the estate district hiking trail passes the farm via the oak avenue and past the gatehouse.
