Noer is considered a rural municipality on Eckernförde Bay, suitable for hiking and cycling. Noer Castle is a historic castle on Eckernförde Bay and is regarded as a prominent local landmark. There is also a sandy beach along the coast.

Nature and Coast

A local attraction in Noer is the Bewaldete Düne bei Noer nature reserve. The nature reserve covers approximately 47 hectares and provides refuge for characteristic plant and animal species. Access is not permitted.

Noer's active and inactive Baltic Sea cliffs are classified as geotopes. Noer is also located in the Küstenlandschaft Dänischer Wohld landscape protection area.

History and Culture

The mausoleum at Noer Castle is the final resting place of a countess and a count; this mausoleum can be visited along the Noer section of Cycle Route 2. The Eiskellerberg in Noer is a Neolithic long barrow built around 2000 BC. It later served Noer Castle as an ice cellar; in the 20th century, the children of the noble family used it as a sledding hill.

On the castle grounds, Geotanium offers geological programs about amber, dinosaurs, fossils, and the Ice Age.

Getting Around and On-Site

The marked stops on the Dörpstour in Noer can be explored on foot or by bicycle. The tour can begin at Hof Jensen in Noer and is approximately 4.5 kilometers long.

Lindhof offers agricultural educational programs for schoolchildren, kindergarten children, and other interested visitors.

The Kartoffelkiste farm shop in Noer sells potatoes, regional eggs, and regional honey.
