Holzdorf: Hotels and Accommodation

Holzdorf is located in the middle of the Schwansen peninsula, approximately 5 km from both the Schlei and the Baltic Sea. The municipality has a network of 33 km of paths.

Nature and Landscape

The regional landscape of Schwansen includes beaches, sections of steep coastline, bays, agricultural landscapes and historic manor houses. A 42-km section of the Baltic Coast Cycle Route also runs through the region.

Lake Söby, north of Söby and the B 203, is the only inland body of water in the municipality of Holzdorf. The surrounding area of Holzdorf includes Noer Strand, Lindholm and Ulsberg; Kleiner Flintholm is located in the wider regional surroundings.

Culture and History

Gut Maasleben is located in Holzdorf. This historic estate was described as a fortified farmstead in 1463 and later became one of the largest estates in Schwansen.

In Seeholz, Holzdorf's “Alte Schule” Phonomuseum offers guided tours on the technological, social and historical development of audio and music technology from 1880 to 1980. The devices on display include gramophones, radios and stereo systems. The tours last approximately 1.5 hours; the museum has a low-barrier entrance for wheelchair users.

The wider regional surroundings of Holzdorf also include the Edelsturm ruins, Gottorf Castle, the State Museum, the runestone and the Naval Memorial in Laboe.
