Waćmierek: Hotels and accommodation

The green Szlak Ziemi Tczewskiej im. Romana Klima is a 73.7 km-long trail from Tczew to Smętowo Graniczne and reaches Waćmierek on Starogardzka Street at kilometer 15.3. It is suitable for cycle tourism along almost its entire length.

Nature and history

The Waćmierek fortified settlement is protected both in the register of monuments and in the monument inventory, and is considered a well-preserved lowland fortified settlement area on a peninsula of the former Jezioro Gniszewskie lake. The path leads uphill from the parking lot; after 500 m, you reach the Waćmierek fortified settlement.

Jezioro Waćmierek is a 5-hectare body of water. The Tczew County register of quiet zones for inland waters lists Jezioro Waćmierek; these zones serve to ensure suitable acoustic conditions in recreation and leisure areas.

A former dam once divided Jezioro Waćmierek and led from the former estate to a hill. On this hill, which the former dam reached from the former estate, remains of the former estate owners’ cemetery have survived to this day; remarkable Douglas firs still stand there. To this day, part of the manor park in Waćmierek stands out from the surrounding fallow land, shrubs, and naturally growing trees because of its tree population.

Geographical location

Waćmerek is a locality in Tczew, in the Pomeranian Voivodeship of Poland, at an elevation of 65 meters. In the nearby area, 3 km west of Waćmerek, is the Church of Saint Andrew Bobola in Swarożyn; Swarożyn railway station is also located 3 km west of Waćmerek.
