Rudno: Hotels and Accommodations

Rudno is one of the oldest settlements in the region and was the seat of a castellan with a fortified castle. A document from 1229 transferred Rudno to the Cistercians of Oliwa; the castellan Pantinus is named as a witness in it.

History

The historic townscape is characterized by several testimonies from different eras. Rudno has a well-preserved settlement structure worthy of preservation and protection. The church tower stands by the present-day Roman Catholic chapel and functions as an architectural landmark within the historic settlement structure.

The former Protestant church in Rudno was built in 1796, alternatively 1817, and destroyed in 1945. In its place, or on its southern side, the Chapel of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross was built in 1982–1983, partly on the foundations of the former church. As early as 1648, Rudno had two mills.
