Discover Vestbjerg: Nature, Culture and Hammer Bakker
At the southern end of Vestbjerg lies Vestbjerg Nature and Climate Park, located on the grounds of a former sports field complex.
Nature and Climate Park
Several smaller lakes and ponds are part of the park. As a recreational nature area, it is intended to create better conditions for nature and increase biodiversity. Its current focus on recreation and nature complements the historical connection to the site. Anyone wishing to make bodies of water and biodiversity the focus of their stay in Vestbjerg can include the park in their daily plans due to its southern location and the various bodies of water. For those interested in nature, the park can make up a separate part of the day, taking into account its location at the southern end of Vestbjerg, the small lakes and ponds, and its ecological objective together.
Hammer Bakker and Marked Trails
Vestbjerg Skovvej is an important access route to Hammer Bakker for many residents of Vestbjerg. In the vicinity of Vestbjerg, Hammer Bakker contains public areas accessible via marked trails. For a walk or an active part of the stay, the road access and trail markings are therefore the specific local points of reference.
Out and About with a Dog
Vestbjerg is one of the 15 dog parks in Aalborg Municipality. In Aalborg Municipality, dog parks are small or large fenced areas where law-abiding and obedient dogs can be exercised without a leash. The definition explicitly includes both sizes. For dog owners, the fencing and the freedom from leashes are therefore the main features of this location.
Vestbjerg Kirkecenter
Vestbjerg Kirkecenter was inaugurated on 21 March 1982. It was designed for church services, meetings, confirmation classes and other relevant activities. In 1999, a new church room was added to Vestbjerg Kirkecenter; it was first used on 13 February 2000.
Vestbjerg Kirkecenter also contains a series of glass mosaics depicting the story of Noah's Ark. Third-grade pupils and mini-confirmands created it together with the glass artists Britta Madsen and Søren Gøttrup from Støvring. The work combines a biblical motif with collaboration between learners and glass artists. Those interested in culture can include the Kirkecenter in their daily plans through its architectural history and the glass mosaic series about Noah's Ark. Britta Madsen and Søren Gøttrup from Støvring were also involved in creating this series.
