Boock: Hotels and Accommodations

Boock's Lindenstraße is the village's main street. Well-maintained linden trees and blooming front gardens line its route. Boock is a municipality in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Germany.

Culture and History

Boock village church is a fieldstone church dating from around 1500. In the second half of the 18th century, it was extended to the west, and the tower was added in the 19th century.

The Boock Dörpschaft maintains the tradition of Fastelabend. Its members portray figures from rural life in the 15th century.

Ãœns Heimatstuf is located on the grounds of the old school in Boock. In two buildings with several rooms, it presents life and work in earlier times. The Boock local history museum's collection includes handicraft objects related to baking, tailoring, and shoemaking. Old agricultural machinery is displayed across an outdoor area of 200 square meters.

Landscape and Trails

The Achtersee is a dried-up lake where small orchids grow. The Kalkloch can be reached from Boock via a 1.5-kilometer walking path; there is a rest area nearby.

About two kilometers from Boock, in the direction of Blankensee, stands the Dutch windmill, which can be visited. It was built around the 17th century and reconstructed in 2001.

A cycle path leads from Boock via Löcknitz–Glashütte and returns through Pampow and Mewegen. The Randow Valley can be explored by boat, on foot along cycling and hiking trails, by horse-drawn carriage, or by bicycle.

The Thursee can be reached from Pampow. A lookout tower stands at the northeastern tip of Lake Latzig.
