Hammer an der Uecker: Hotels and Accommodations

The wooded path from Hammer towards Liepe leads in the direction of the Kuhlmorgen DBU Natural Heritage site. The 308-hectare area comprises 130 hectares of open land as well as diverse flora and fauna; the surrounding nature and Liepe’s approximately 350-year-old oak avenue are considered suitable for walking and hiking.

Culture and History

The Hammer Local History Room is a small local history museum where visitors can learn about the development of Großhammer, Kleinhammer, and the district of Liepe. It is located at Straße der Befreier 11, 17358 Hammer.

The local history connects the name Hammer with medieval pig-iron processing and suggests that the mill in the present-day village may have been used for iron processing. Liepe is considered one of the oldest settlements in the Ferdinandshof administrative area; the settlement is dated to the Wendish period around 1300.
