The Gmina Będzino is located in the coastal belt of Koszalin County (Powiat koszaliński). Its area includes a five-kilometre stretch of coastline and access to Lake Jamno.

Coast and water

The Gmina Będzino includes Pleśna Beach and the yacht marina in Podamirowo as visitor attractions. The Strzeżenica and Glinianka watercourses also flow through the municipality.

Nature and landscape

The southern part of the Gmina Będzino includes part of the Wierzchomińskie Bagno peatland and forest reserve. It protects an Atlantic raised bog and the characteristic vegetation of this habitat. The area is also home to one of the largest populations of Polish honeysuckle in Poland.

The Gmina Będzino is considered to be predominantly agricultural in character. The landscape includes picturesque fields, meadow ecosystems and mixed forests. A total of 542 plant species and at least 145 bird species have been documented in the municipality, including 92 breeding bird species.
