Location and orientation
Manowo lies on the Dzierżęcinka and National Road No. 11, 12 km southeast of Koszalin. This makes Koszalin a clear geographical reference point for orientation. The narrow-gauge railway also connects the two places: the Koszalińska Kolej Wąskotorowa runs along the 12 km Koszalin–Manowo route. Another route runs 20 km from Koszalin to Rosnowo. The lengths of both routes give you a concrete sense of the railway connections mentioned, without making it possible to infer a journey time.
Narrow-gauge railway and local history
The narrow-gauge railway station in Manowo was built in 1912. The Koszalińska Kolej Wąskotorowa is a legally protected 19th-century technical monument and carries tourists and excursion groups. This puts both a specific historic station building and a railway with a longer engineering history at the heart of Manowo’s railway appeal. Visitors interested in railways and technical monuments can give these aspects particular consideration when choosing a travel destination.
The townscape also includes a preserved naturalistic park, listed in the register of monuments. Together with the station building, it offers another perspective on Manowo: alongside the railway, there is also a historic park as a subject in its own right. The Church of Our Lady Help of Christians was built between 1980 and 1983, adding another point of interest in the town’s cultural history.
Forest nature at Czapla Góra
Czapla Góra has the character of a forest park and is a nesting site for grey herons. Here, the character of a forest park combines with a specific connection to birdlife. Czapla Góra is also home to a group of five pedunculate oaks with trunk circumferences of up to 490 cm. The number of trees and the stated circumference describe the group in more detail and offer nature lovers a focus of its own alongside the railway and cultural themes.
Three cycling routes of different lengths
Three routes associated with Manowo are described for cycling visitors. The red Szlak Morenowej Przełęczy is 14 km long. It starts in Manowo at the beginning of the road to Wyszebórz and passes through Policko, Maszkowo and Kłos. To get a clearer picture of the route, you can take both the starting point and the places named along the way into account when planning.
The green Szlak Spichlerzy is considerably longer, at 32 km. It runs from Mścice through Biesiekierz, Dunowo, Jarzyce and Świeszyno to Manowo. The Trasa Słoneczna is 31 km long, passes through Manowo, Niedalino and Zacisze, and returns to Manowo. The distances of 14, 32 and 31 km help you compare route lengths; the routes also differ in the places they pass through and their respective courses.
