Geographical setting

The Iławka and Tynwałd rivers flow through Iława. Wielka Żuława, described as Poland’s largest inland island, lies within the administrative area. A permanent ferry connection between Wielka Żuława and Iława is available.

Nature

The IÅ‚awa Lake District Landscape Park stretches west and north around IÅ‚awa. IÅ‚awa is connected with Jeziorak, numerous other lakes, extensive greenery, and picturesque landscapes.

Culture and history

Iława also has sights and historic buildings to offer. Szymbark – Zamek warowny (13th–14th century) is located in the vicinity of Iława. In the wider regional area are Ostróda – Zamek Krzyżacki (14th century) and Dylewska Góra.
