In Danderyd, the 190-kilometre Roslagsleden begins next to the intersection of Edsbergsvägen and Enebybergsvägen. The linked names Danderyd, Djursholm and Stocksund provide a direct connection to the local area.

In Danderyd, culture, sports, outdoor activities, playgrounds and points of interest exist side by side. The landscape includes two nature reserves, parks, lakes, sports facilities and a diverse cultural offering.

Nature and Trails

The start of Roslagsleden is within walking distance of Mörby centrum metro station; the trail leads to Rinkebyskogen. Rinkebyskogen is the largest contiguous forest area in Danderyd. In the nature reserve, visitors can walk along numerous paths, hiking trails and fitness tracks. The nature reserve can be reached by bus from stops along Edsbergsvägen and Enebybergsvägen.

Mörbylund offers elevated viewpoints overlooking Värtan, Edsviken and Ulriksdal Palace.

The Nora-Ekeby cultural trail is an approximately 6-kilometre archaeological and cultural-historical walking tour. It can be explored on foot or by bicycle using existing roads and paths, and describes a total of 28 different stations or sites.

Parks and Facilities

Cedergrenska Park includes an arboretum with exotic coniferous trees. One part of the garden contains 50 different varieties of fruit trees. Cedergrenska Tower was built using traditional craftsmanship and old techniques.

Svanholmsparken has a playground, a volleyball court, a barbecue area and toilets. Historical signs allow visitors to learn about the park's long history.

Cultural History

Danderyd Church has served as a parish and community church since the 15th century. It houses medieval art treasures from the 12th to the 14th century.

Djursholm Castle acquired its present appearance in the 17th century. The castle can be rented for weddings, conferences and other events.

Construction of the Djursholm Water Tower began in 1890. Since 1974, the Djursholm Water Tower has housed the Danderyd association archive.

Djursholms villastad was laid out around 1889–1890 as the first affluent villa district outside Stockholm. The villa district includes buildings in various architectural styles dating from 1890 to the present day. A walk through Djursholms villastad highlights several successive phases of architectural development.

Art and Events

The “Upptäck konsten” app features eleven public artworks from Danderyd and enables self-guided art walks with information about the artists and artworks.

Danderydsgården hosts concerts as well as art and photography exhibitions, with a focus on cultural activities for children. The large event room at Danderydsgården can be rented for cultural activities and concerts.

Danderydsgården is located at Noragårdsvägen 27, five minutes by bus or a 15-minute walk from Mörby centrum.
