Discover Veberöd: Nature Trails, Swimming and Local History
Accommodation in Veberöd
Veberöd combines nature experiences, marked hiking trails and notable local history.
Nature Trails and Landscapes Around Veberöd
Veberöd is located near Romeleåsen and other green areas. In the Veberöds ljung nature reserve, two marked trails run through semi-open grazing land: Ljungenrundan is 5 km long, while Storkrundan is 7.5 km. Ljungenrundan starts at Hasslemölla gård in Veberöd. Those walking the Hasslemöllarundan pass over boardwalks in some sections. The different trail types allow you to plan your day around your preferred route and landscape, without treating the routes as identical.
The 12-kilometre Genarp–Veberöd hike on Skåneleden is classified as difficult. Orange Skåneleden markings lead into the centre of Veberöd, where the route reaches a bus stop. This provides a clearly named route and a point of orientation in the town for longer tours. There are also other hiking and cycling trails in the surrounding area.
Storkrundan runs through the Klingavälsåns dalgång area from Veberöds ljung to the stork enclosure at Hemmestorps mölla. The Klingavälsån area has several birdwatching towers and is suitable for walking freely across the grazing land. Unmarked paths and Skåneleden run through the Dörröds fälad area; there is a rest area at the eastern car park. A railbike track runs through the Romeleåsen valley from Björnstorp to Veberöd. There is a rest area along this track for bringing food or having a barbecue.
Combining Swimming, Landscapes and Local History
For a day of swimming, Veberödsbadet has a 25-metre swimming pool, a teaching pool and a children’s pool. The facilities also include a sauna and a playground. Those travelling with children or wanting to plan another activity between hikes and sightseeing can take these facilities into account when organising their day.
The surroundings south of Idala, outside Veberöd, also offer distinctive landscape features: there is pastureland shaped by trees and shrubs, with stream ravines; a western area is called Körsbärsdalen. The nature reserve close to the outskirts has hilly terrain, viewpoints and wide views across the Vomb Depression. Vombsjön is mentioned as a destination in the area around Veberöd.
At Veberöds kyrka, historic architecture meets specific visiting hours. The church was probably built at the beginning of the 13th century from handmade bricks in the Romanesque architectural style. The pulpit dates from 1591. Visitors can enter the church on weekdays from 07:00 to 15:30, as well as at weekends in connection with services and other events. The Veberöd station settlement dates from the period between 1894 and 1945.
