Dalby for Nature Trails and History

If you would like to combine short paths, extensive stretches through nature and a place steeped in history during your trip, Dalby offers several different destinations. The selection ranges from a 600-metre, accessibility-adapted trail to a 2.3-kilometre loop around the entire Dalby Söderskog National Park. There is also Dalby Church, a 50-metre swimming pool and a dive site for beginners. Nature, culture and water-based experiences each therefore have their own focus. This means that when planning a stay, you can choose between a short route, a longer park loop, a historic church building and two different water activities.

Hiking between Dalby Söderskog and Skryllegården

The Bökebackeslingan is 600 metres long and adapted for accessibility. The Kroppekärrsrundan is almost four times as long as the Bökebackeslingan and also leads around the entire Dalby Söderskog National Park. Its short distance clearly distinguishes it from the Kroppekärrsrundan, which runs for more than 2.3 kilometres around the entire Dalby Söderskog National Park. The two routes therefore differ both in length and in their course. Those looking for a compact, accessibility-adapted route will find it on the Bökebackeslingan; those who want to walk around the national park on a longer loop can choose the Kroppekärrsrundan.

A path through Dalby Norreskog leads south to Dalby Söderskog National Park and north to Skryllegården. The southern direction thus leads towards the national park, while the northern direction leads towards Skryllegården. The Skåneleden also runs through the Dalby fälad no 5 nature reserve. In addition to the north–south path, the landscape around Dalby therefore also includes a path through a nature reserve.

There is a bus connection near the southern entrance to Dalby Söderskog National Park.

Dalby Church as a Historical Focus

Dalby Church provides a historical focus. It is the oldest stone church in the Nordic countries. It was built in connection with a reorganisation of the Danish diocese in 1059/1060 as a cathedral and bishop's church. These two ecclesiastical functions gave the church building a specific role within the Danish diocese.

The church includes a crypt that is considered one of the finest Romanesque church interiors in Northern Europe. The church building and this independent interior space create different architectural accents. The crypt expands the historic site with a space whose significance extends across Northern Europe.

Swimming and Diving

Dalbybadet has a 50-metre swimming pool. Dalby stenbrott is a dive site suitable for beginners. The swimming pool and the dive site represent different forms of water sports: one is for swimming, while the other is a dive site for beginners.
