Eslöv: Hiking Trails, Culture and Nature

Eslöv combines protected natural areas, marked trails and historic cultural sites with art, water activities and leisure opportunities. The selection of locations includes not only Eslöv but also Stockamöllan, Harlösa, Marieholm, Flyinge and Eslöv as well as Stehag.

Nature and Trails

Eslövs allmänning, a municipal nature reserve, lies southwest of Eslöv. A 4.5-kilometre hiking trail runs through the area and forms part of the so-called Park Walk through several parks in Eslöv. Hälsans stig also runs through Eslövs allmänning; it is a 6-kilometre circular route with markers at every kilometre.

The Abullahagen nature reserve is located on the outskirts of Eslöv. The small lake Långakärr, which attracts many birds, is situated there. Abullahagen also contains graves of people who lived there as early as the Iron Age. The area can be reached on foot, by bicycle, by public transport or by car.

Husarängen is a recreation area in Eslöv with illuminated fitness and exercise trails. The north–south SL2 section of the Skåneleden runs through Eslöv Municipality and has scenic sections in Harlösa and Löberöd.

Culture and History

Eslövs stadsmuseum is housed in a merchant’s house dating from 1892. The exhibition Eslövsresan traces the town’s development from the first decade of the 20th century through the major changes of the following century. The museum presents exhibitions, lectures and other events throughout the year.

Medborgarhuset is an architectural heritage site visited by students and architecture enthusiasts from around the world. The building hosts concerts, exhibitions and theatre performances. Eslövs kyrka is a red-brick Gothic cathedral with a tall, pointed tower on the west side; it was consecrated on 29 November 1891. The church hosts concerts, Saturday music and other musical events.

In the Gjutaren district, Artscape Eslöv has created a freely accessible outdoor gallery and an art walk featuring nine works of art and installations. The works are accessible free of charge around the clock.

Eslövs Filmstudio shows films at Bian in Eslöv on Mondays at 7 p.m. Bian cinema screens current films in the evenings and at weekends. By appointment, visitors can view the municipal archive’s collections on site in Eslöv.

Leisure and Water

Trollsjöområdet consists of Sahlins park, Ekenäs and Skytteskogen. Trollsjöområdet has an 18-hole disc golf course. The playground at Trollsjön has a wheelchair swing.

Karlsrobadet adventure pool has four water slides. It also has a children’s paddling pool with water heated to 32 degrees. In Eslöv Municipality, you can fish in Lakes Ringsjön and Vombsjön as well as in parts of the Kävlingeån River. You can canoe on the Rönne å between Ringsjön and Ängelholm.

Food and Drink

Eslöv has a tradition of food and beverage production, as well as a connection between food craftsmanship and beverage production. Maya choklad in central Eslöv makes chocolate from scratch using organically and ethically grown cocoa beans.
