Wees: Hotels and accommodations

Wees is a state-recognized recreational resort. The municipality combines agricultural homesteads and farms with modern residential developments as well as commercial and industrial businesses.

Nature

The 29-hectare Blixmoor FFH area in Schleswig-Holstein is considered a transitional bog. It is characterized by hand-cut peat extraction and includes various stages of regeneration, quaking bog formation, and adjacent forests. The area includes dystrophic lakes and ponds, which provide a habitat for species including the large red damselfly, the great crested newt, and the moor frog. In the immediate vicinity, the Weesrieser Gehege is used by people seeking recreation and by joggers.

Farm life

The Andresen adventure farm in Wees offers farm visits for families, children's groups, daycare centers, schools, and companies. Visitors can feed calves; children and adults also have the opportunity to sit on a tractor. Treasure hunts and farm rallies are part of the offerings, as are children's birthday parties, guided farm tours, trips for daycare centers and schools, and company celebrations.

Agriculture

The Jessen-Oxbüll farm shop sells chickens and soup chickens. Jessen-Oxbüll specializes in direct-to-consumer poultry sales and arable farming. The Jessen family's agricultural activities in Oxbüll can be traced back several centuries; poultry, especially chickens, has been the focus of the farm for three generations. Fresh farm milk is also available directly from the dairy farm in Wees.

Culture

Oxbüll and Ulstrup are characterized by their historic character and rural charm.

Wees is located directly on the B 199 between Flensburg and Kappeln. The municipality's route-planning services are preset to Wees and can plan cycling and hiking tours in Schleswig-Holstein.
