Dollerup: Hotels and Accommodation

The coast of the Flensburg Fjord is near Dollerup. The area is connected by cycling and hiking trails through the hilly landscape of Angeln; Dollerup is also located on the B199 between Flensburg and Kappeln.

History and Village Life

Dollerup’s history dates back to the Middle Ages; the municipality was part of the Danish Duchy of Schleswig. Local traditions include an Easter bonfire, the erection of a maypole and a village festival.

Nature and Coast

The Langballigau Valley Nature Reserve runs through Dollerup. Dollerupholz has a bathing beach on the southern coast of the Flensburg Fjord. Dollerupholz Beach is characterized by an impressive steep coast.

The beach has a free car park with toilets. From there, a small path leads towards the beach; there are also seating areas for picnics and an outdoor shower.

Local Specialties

The Dollerup Distillery is considered an attraction beyond the region and Germany’s northernmost distillery. Fruit spirits have been produced there since 2003; German whisky, rum and gin are also made in Dollerup. When the relevant ingredients are available, the distillery uses ingredients gathered from the natural environment of Schleswig-Holstein.

The Dollerup Distillery can be visited during the shop’s opening hours. An approximately one-hour introduction explains the distillation process and includes tastings of the spirits produced from it. In the certified farm shop, visitors can taste and buy spirits bottled by hand. In addition to the distillery’s products, regional honeys, vinegar specialties and wines are also offered there.
