Culture

St. Laurentius in Munkbrarup was built between 1175 and 1200 as a Romanesque granite ashlar church. Its richly decorated south portal has three columns on each of the stepped sides of the jambs. Inside is a granite baptismal font made around 1200, considered the oldest and most valuable work of art in St. Laurentius.

At the Hoffnung windmill, the historic mechanism for turning the cap into the wind has been preserved. Inside, three milling mechanisms and a grits stone have also been preserved. The Hoffnung windmill offers guided tours about the mill, the local people, and the surrounding land; readings and exhibitions take place there in summer.
