Süderfahrenstedt: Hotels and Accommodation

Langsee in Süderfahrenstedt covers approximately 1.3 km² and has a circumference of around 11.5 km. Almost completely surrounded by forest, it lies in a valley shaped by the last ice age.

Nature and Trails

The Langsee Circuit is a short 5.45 km hike and takes approximately one to one and a half hours. Its first section follows the lakeshore. Along the way, views open up across the water, bordered by forests and meadows, before the trail continues through the tranquil surrounding landscape. The circuit can be reached by public transport or by car; the public transport stop is Süderfahrenstedt Ortsmitte.

Two circular trails begin at the Zum Langsee country inn. The western loop is approximately 9 km long and leads to a bathing area, places to rest, a barbecue hut, the former home of the landscape painter Jan Laß, through the Lüngmoor and to a water lily pond.

Culture

The Edelsturm ruins and Tolkschau are located in the immediate vicinity of Süderfahrenstedt. Schloss Gottorf, the state museum, the runestone, Sankt Johannis Monastery and Lindholm are located in the surrounding area. Further afield in the region are Habernis Beach and Noer Beach.
