Idstedt: Hotels and Accommodation

Three shorter hiking routes run directly along Lake Idstedt. They start at the car park north of the lake and are marked with colored metal discs; their lengths are 4 km, 7 km, and 10 km.

Nature

In Idstedt Forest, visitors can walk to or around Idstedt Robber’s Cave. The well-preserved passage grave belongs to the Funnel Beaker culture and is dated to the period from approximately 3500 to 2800 BC. It can be reached after several hundred meters from nearby forest car parks.

Several long-distance trails pass through Idstedt: the historic Ox Road, the Via Jutlandica section of the Way of St. James, and the European long-distance hiking trail E1.

In the area around Idstedt are Gottorf Castle, the State Museum, the Rune Stone, the Edelsturm ruins, Haithabu, Mövenberg, and Tolkschau.
