Neuberend: Hotels and Accommodation

Numerous walking trails lead from Neuberend to the nearby Königsdamm meadows and the surrounding forests. They offer an opportunity to enjoy nature locally.

History and Culture

In the mid-18th century, 21 colonist settlements on the Berender Heath were combined to form the village of Neuberend. On 1 October 1764, Neuberend was fully recorded as having 105 inhabitants.

The grave of the soldier Lauritz Chr. Jensen Smaagard is located in a private garden at Klosterreihe 77 in Neuberend and is a protected monument. The grave of a Danish soldier can be visited by arrangement with the neighboring residents. Cultural events in Neuberend are coordinated by the local cultural association.

In Schleswig, the Gottorf Castle Museum Island features exhibitions on archaeology and the history of art and culture in the buildings surrounding the castle. The reconstructed Gottorf Globe and the Baroque garden are also among its attractions. The castle itself is currently closed due to renovation work.

Nature and Leisure

Neuberend has a recreational area with a barbecue site and play equipment. Several lakes near Neuberend invite visitors to go swimming, and horseback riding is available in Neuberend.

The StOÃœbPl Neuberend / Langsee area covers approximately 337 hectares, including 44.6 hectares of water.

Paths and Transport

A well-developed network of cycle paths connects Neuberend with the surrounding towns, which can be explored by bicycle. Kiel, Flensburg and Hamburg can be reached from Neuberend via the A7 or by bus and train.
