Beldorf: Hotels and Accommodations

Located on the Kiel Canal, Beldorf offers opportunities for cycling along the canal, walking, and horseback riding. The town can be reached via the Neumünster–Büsum railway line; the station is named Beldorf. Road connections include Landesstraße 316 and the A23, which lies approximately 15 kilometers to the west.

Culture and History

In Beldorf’s Ole School community center, a monumental painting measuring 25 meters in length depicts the history of the Grünental high bridge.

The area around the Grünental high bridge preserves a historic viewpoint of the bridge, a surviving relief of a German imperial eagle, and a former bridge abutment. The abutment is displayed at the entrance to Grünental.

The cultural and historical monument known as Schalenstein is located near Beldorf. The surrounding area is also home to the cultural and historical monuments Schanze and Krinkberg; the wider regional area contains the cultural and historical monument Hügelgrab.

A former canal dredging disposal site in Beldorf is described as an area reclaimed by nature that serves as a refuge for many animal species.
