The Hærvejen hiking trail runs directly through Thorshøj. Two stages place the town within different hiking directions: Frederikshavn–Thorshøj and Thorshøj–Klokkerholm. One leads through hilly terrain with views of the Kattegat, open woodland and open countryside, while the other leads to the protected area around Nymølle Bæk on the edge of Jyske Ås.

The route therefore differs in its specific destination from the Frederikshavn–Thorshøj stage, where the Kattegat, open woodland and open countryside come together.

Torslev Church and Regional Culture

The village of Thorshøj is home to Torslev Church, which dates from around 1200. Inside the church, there is a Hærvejen stamp in a box next to the information board. The tower has an outer layer of brickwork from 1852 and otherwise dates from the Late Gothic period. The stamp and the tower details thus point to different aspects of the same church building.

The Bangsbo Fort Bunker Museum and Bangsbo Museum og Arkiv are located in the vicinity of Thorshøj; both are museums. Hørby Church is in the nearby area. Palmestranden is located in the wider regional surroundings of Thorshøj. In addition to Hærvejen and Torslev Church, this adds two museums, another church and a beach as different cultural and landscape destinations.
