Sauzin: Hotels and accommodations

Sauzin is located in the northwest of Usedom between the Krumminer Wiek and the Peenestrom. The Achterwasser lies south of the village; Sauzin is also situated in the Usedom Island Nature Park.

Geographical location

Sauzin is approximately two kilometers east of Wolgast and about eight kilometers west of Zinnowitz. Federal highway 111 runs north of the municipality.

History

Sauzin was first documented on August 12, 1230, under the name “Zobesino.” Historically, the village was an outlying estate of Wolgast. The village form comprised a compact settlement with several farmsteads located outside it.

Landscape

The Schlossinsel, an island, is located in the vicinity of the center. The island of Rohrplan is also located in the surrounding area of the center.

Culture

Wolgast Zoo, which is considered a zoo, is located in the vicinity of the center. St. Petri, a church, is also located in this area.

The Trassenheide Butterfly Farm, which is considered a zoo, and the Peenemünde Power Plant Museum are located in the surrounding area of the center. The ruins of the Peenemünde Oxygen Works and Test Stand VII Peenemünde are also located there.
