Bobitz: Hotels and Accommodations

Bobitz has a hilly, undulating landscape shaped by the Ice Age. Hiking, horseback riding, and cycling trails run through the recreation area around Lake Tressow.

Nature

The Dambeck Lakes Nature Reserve covers 195 hectares. The lakes are a resting place for migrating geese from Northern Europe. The area around the Small and Large Dambeck Lakes is also a resting and breeding ground for birds, as well as a destination for ornithologists. The shoreline zones, meadows, pastures, forests, and moors around the Dambeck Lakes belong to an FFH area covering 1,354 hectares.

Exploring the Landscape

The Dambeck Lakes can be explored on foot or by bicycle via farm tracks and meadow paths between Drispeth, Dambeck, Wendisch Rambow, and Zickhusen. Nature ranger Rico Giese and the Schatzhüter association offer guided group tours through the Dambeck Lakes Nature Reserve. A trial event takes place on the Sandberg every year.

History and Architectural Heritage

The church in Beidendorf is a North German Gothic brick building dating from the 13th century, while the church in Dambeck is a Late Gothic brick building from the 15th century. Bobitz was first recorded as an estate in 1340. Schloss Tressow, a late Neoclassical manor house built between 1862 and 1865, stands south of Lake Tressow. On the upper floor, Schloss Tressow offers holiday apartments with views of the park and the surrounding landscape.

Kloster Gut Saunstorf opened as a retreat for guests in 2010. Events led by spiritual teachers take place there; the monastery also provides seminar and retreat groups with a peaceful setting.

Getting There

Bobitz has road access via the B208, a railway connection, and an A20 exit named Bobitz. The BUDDHA Café & Deli in Saunstorf can be reached via a farm track from Beidendorf/Luttersdorf or via the cycle path next to the B208 from the Beidendorf-Bobitz access road.
