Local history and places of interest
The Eiertunnel is a distinctive link between local history and the railway: this pedestrian tunnel passes beneath the railway tracks. Today, the star-shaped rampart is a destination for excursions and a rest stop with views across Lake Schwerin. Also on the northern shore is the Bad Kleinen climate forest, a 1.2-hectare area of climate forest financed through the Waldaktie MV scheme. It is located about 800 metres northeast of Bad Kleinen and is freely accessible at all times.
Cycling routes and getting around
There are various circular routes to choose from for an active stay. Cycling Loop 1 runs from Bad Kleinen via the church in Hohen Viecheln, Dorf Mecklenburg, Metelsdorf, Groß Stieten and Fichtenhusen, before returning to the starting point. Cycling Loop 2 goes via Wiligrad, Lübstorf, Alt Meteln, Neu Meteln, Dambeck, Drispeth and Zickhusen, before returning to Bad Kleinen.
