Lake Landscapes and Trails in Amt Neverin

The landscape surrounding the villages in Amt Neverin is shaped by Lake Neverin and the two Hausseen lakes. This rural character is especially evident in Woggersin: the village lies directly on the western edge of the Tollense Valley and around 6 km northwest of Neubrandenburg.

The landscape east of Woggersin encompasses the Tollense lowlands with several old, water-filled peat pits; fields lie to the north, south and west. Woggersin has hiking trails to and from Neubrandenburg. From Wulkenzin, various forest trails lead to the western shore of Lake Tollensesee, around 2 km away. The approximate distance of 2 km provides a clear indication of the scale for planning the route, while the choice between various forest trails remains open. The lakeside places of Buchort, Gatsch Eck and Alt-Meiershof are territorially part of the municipality of Wulkenzin.

Historic Sites and Cultural Traces

The Neverin water tower and Woggersin Church provide historic highlights. The Neverin water tower was built in 1919 by landowner Jasper von Behr-Negendank. The altar in Woggersin Church dates from the time the church was built, around 1788, and belongs to the late Late Baroque period.

Staven is home to a listed manor house dating from the late 18th century, which was frequently remodeled until the mid-19th century. The former manor house in Beseritz and the park behind it serve as a setting for various cultural events throughout the year. In Beseritz, the setting includes both the former manor house and the park behind it.

Woggersin as an Event Venue

The building now known as the Woggersin Cultural Granary was erected around 1850 and was originally used as a granary and stable. The Woggersin Cultural Granary is a historic event venue and cultural hub in Woggersin. Its former function as a granary and stable stands alongside the building’s current cultural use.

Today, the Woggersin Cultural Granary provides space for concerts, markets and a wide range of cultural events. At the pottery workshop in Woggersin, interested visitors can learn pottery-making in Christine Schmidt’s workshop; the farm shop at the Woggersin Cultural Granary offers a selection of regional products. Christine Schmidt’s workshop expands the event program with a focus on traditional crafts.

Exploring on Foot and by Bicycle

For cyclists, a cycle path leads from Neverin via Rossow onward toward Brunn and as far as the motorway. Together with the hiking trails from Woggersin to Neubrandenburg and the forest trails toward Lake Tollensesee, this creates a range of landscape connections for planning a trip. The route also passes through the other places of Rossow and Brunn before continuing toward the motorway. Route selection therefore depends both on connections between places and on the direction toward the motorway.
