Lelkendorf: Hotels and Accommodations

Gut Lelkendorf has been the seat of the von Levetzow family since 1225, with the exception of the years 1945 to 1989.

History and Culture

At Kulturgut Lelkendorf, the former KFL hall was converted into a concert hall. Kulturgut offers a year-round cultural program and also includes a guest studio with a vacation apartment for working artists.

The village church in Groß Markow was built in 1840 in the Neo-Gothic style from red brick. Its stained-glass windows were created in 1890, and the organ was built in 1865 by Friedrich Wilhelm Winzer.

Lelkendorf Castle offers two vacation apartments for visitors who would like to experience the castle. A historic hall in the castle is used for concerts. The castle grounds include a sauna and a park with a fire pit, stone oven, and old trees.

Water and Nature

The Peene is navigable from Neukalen to the Baltic Sea. Lelkendorf is considered a starting point for water hikers on the Peene. From Lelkendorf, the Peene lowlands can be reached via the Peeneweg; there are opportunities to observe cranes, eagles, beavers, otters, and other wildlife there.

Landscape and Trails

The Mecklenburg Switzerland and Lake Kummerow Nature Park is considered a landscape of gentle hills, fields, forests, extensive lowlands, lakes, and small villages. Lelkendorf Castle is among the castles featured on the regional castle circuit.
