Dahmen: Hotels and Accommodation

The bathing area of Dahmen is located on the southern shore of Lake Malchin.

Water

The bathing area is unguarded and has a jetty as well as a partially shaded sunbathing lawn. The shore is sandy and slopes gently; there is also a boat rental service here.

The campsite at the bathing area covers 1.4 hectares. Large trees surround the grounds, which have more than 80 pitches.

Nature

Dahmen lies on the shore of Lake Dahmen and is surrounded by dense forests. In Dahmen, there are hiking opportunities for exploring the surrounding landscape.

The Mecklenburg Switzerland and Lake Kummerow Nature Park features hills, fields, forests, extensive lowlands, lakes, and small villages.

A wooden observation tower stands in the Dahmer Wiesen meadows on Lake Malchin. From Dahmen, you can reach it by walking into the meadows behind the sports field. A regular passenger car can reach the level of the tower; otherwise, allow for a walk of approximately 500 metres.

The tower has room for four to eight people; it contains wooden benches and a table for a snack. From there, you can overlook the Dahmer Moorwiesen nature reserve and Lake Malchin.

Cranes, ospreys, and white-tailed eagles can be observed from the observation tower. Goosanders also occur there as breeding waterfowl. The observation tower is considered an ideal place for photography and wildlife observation.

Culture

The early Gothic brick church is designated as a local attraction in Dahmen. The German Avenue Route passes through Dahmen.

Cycling

From Dahmen towards Ziddorf, a paved and well-signposted cycle path runs along the lake and the Mühlenbach stream for a distance of 3 kilometres.
