Dauparai: Hotels and Accommodation

The 80-kilometre Pilsoto Ring cycling route runs through Dauparai. It passes through the settlement and returns via the rural landscape of the wider KlaipÄ—da District. The Pilsoto Ring follows the historic land of Pilsotas and highlights natural and cultural values, especially the Seaside Regional Park.

The SmeltaitÄ— flows along the southern boundary of Dauparai; it is a tributary of the SmeltalÄ—.

Culture and History

The historical origins of Dauparai date back to the 16th century and the first half of the 17th century. The place name is derived from the personal names Dauparas or Dauperas. An estate known as Didieji Dauparai was established in the present-day area of Dauparai. In 1785, Dauparai were recorded as a village under the name Mažieji Dauparai. On 9 July 1895, the Dauparai estate and village were united into a single village community.

Festivals and Open Spaces

Every year on 6 July, the surrounding seniūnija holds a celebration with leisure activities, sports and concerts. The Gobergiškė Park and outdoor spaces for cultural activities have also been established there. Užgavėnės and a sports festival are also held in the surrounding seniūnija, attracting guests from other settlements in Klaipėda District.

The Klaipėda Zoological Garden, located in the surrounding seniūnija, is considered a place that attracts many visitors every year. Smiltelė in Dauparai is regarded as a modern rural tourism homestead for leisure and family celebrations. Smiltelė is situated on the outskirts of Dauparai in peaceful surroundings with flower beds, ponds, a garden and an outdoor pavilion for barbecues. Smiltelė is approximately 10 km from Klaipėda via the motorway; Gargždai is 4 km away. It can be reached by public or private transport.

The rural homestead Gribžė in Gribžiniai has sports and recreational areas, spaces for children's holiday camps and a wakeboard park. In Kvietiniai, Rūgpienių kaimas is suitable for active leisure in the countryside and has a collection of domestic birds and other animals.
