Pervalka between the Lagoon and the Dunes

Pervalka is a fishing village on the Curonian Spit in Lithuania and belongs to the municipality of Neringa. The village is located on Pervalka Bay on the Curonian Lagoon; a chain of dunes runs west of the settlement. Pervalka lies approximately 18 kilometers north of Nida and 34 kilometers south of Klaipėda.

Near Pervalka are Karvaičiai, a ruin, and Biržtvyno Kyšulys, a cape. The surrounding area also includes Zingelinės Sala, an island, and Preilos Kalnas, a hill. Vito Sala, also an island, lies in the wider regional surroundings of Pervalka.

Village Character and Connections

Pervalka is characterized by picturesque wooden fishermen’s houses, many of which are used as holiday homes in summer. West of Pervalka, the Lithuanian regional road KK 167 runs from Klaipėda to the Lithuanian-Russian border near Nida.
