TÃ¥singe Rundt and the Coast

On Tåsinge, the 57-kilometre Tåsinge Rundt cycling route follows Vornæs Skovvej along the coast to Nørre Vornæs and continues from there to Bregninge. Noret and TÃ¥singe Vejle

In the immediate vicinity of Nørre Vornæs, Noret lies along the road after passing through Nørre Vornæs. From there, the body of water can be viewed, but it is not accessible.

Tåsinge Vejle is home to a diverse birdlife, including waders, ducks and geese. A boardwalk leads to a birdwatching tower. The Vejlen area also has a car park, with a path from there leading to a birdwatching tower. For directions to the car park in the Vejlen area, follow the signs to Nørre Vornæs and then continue via Sønder Vornæs. Around Nørre Vornæs, coastal roads, open fields and beech woodland are all part of the same local setting.

Vornæs Skole and Vornæs Havn

The former Vornæs Skole in Nørre Vornæs is a listed building. It served as a village school until the 1950s. The symmetrically arranged complex has three wings and a gravel-covered courtyard and overlooks open fields. The former school is largely preserved and is an example of a larger, thatched village school from the mid-19th century.

Vornæs Havn is one of the smaller marinas on Tåsinge and consists of wooden jetties. Alongside the cycling route and birdlife, the harbour adds a maritime accent to the village landscape. The wooden jetties visibly structure the small harbour.

Traces in Vornæs Skov

Vornæs Skov contains a protected, U-shaped earthwork with an outer ditch. The structure is considered unusual and is visibly raised above the forest floor beneath mature beech woodland. Vornæs Skov is also home to a cup-marked stone with 15 cup-shaped depressions, eight of which are arranged in pairs.

Niels Hansen from Nørre Vornæs

Niels Hansen was born in 1880 in Nørre Vornæs on Tåsinge and was regarded in his time as one of the four most important painters from Funen. His seascapes were characterised by severe weather. Alongside the architectural and landscape traces, this adds a specific artist’s name to the cultural side of Nørre Vornæs. The painter complements the local connection with seascapes whose defining motif was severe weather.
