Sjöbo: Trails, Water and Culture

Immediately east of the built-up area of Sjöbo lies the Oran recreation area. It is one kilometre from the Sjöbo bus stop and has a total of 25 kilometres of marked mountain bike trails: one green, three blue and one red trail.
Nature and Trails
In the immediate surrounding area of Sjöbo, the Snogeholm recreation area combines lakes, sandy heathland, open grazing land, damp alder marshes, open deciduous woodland and dark spruce forest. There are ten marked hiking trails, including a 1.5-kilometre wheelchair-accessible promenade along the shore of Lake Snogeholm.
In the immediate surrounding area of Sjöbo, an extensive network of trails in the Övedskloster Nature Reserve leads through old oak and beech forests with old, particularly large trees. The Övedskloster Nature Reserve also has a bathing area and a barbecue area.
Sport and Exercise
Orebadet in Sjöbo has a 50-metre outdoor pool. There is a lift to the large swimming pool for people with disabilities. Sjöbo Swimming Centre has a 25-metre pool and a relaxation area with a sauna and hot tub.
Möllers mosse has a 400-metre illuminated running track with a crushed-stone surface. The X-rundan is 1,700 metres long, fully illuminated and runs on asphalt. It offers quiz questions during the walk. At Solvalla bygdegård, there is a 400-metre walking path accessible to all age groups as well as to people with walking disabilities and those using mobility aids.
Along the nature trail at Solvalla, signs provide information about various trees and shrubs. An information board also describes the flowers and herbs visible throughout the year.
Culture
Exhibitions are held at Sjöbo Konsthall. Next to Sjöbo Konsthall, there is a creative space open to everyone. The art gallery is located in Kulturhuset at Gamla Torg 10, next to the library.
Elfstrands krukmakeri is the first pottery workshop environment in Skåne to be listed as a protected heritage site. As a working museum, Elfstrands krukmakeri has an authentic and well-preserved craft environment; the museum is open in summer.
The Flora Cinema Theatre has presented films, theatre performances, concerts and lectures since 1939. Its facilities can also be used for screenings of live or recorded opera, theatre and sporting events.
Markets and Historic Places
The Sjöbo Summer Market takes place in the market square in the centre of Sjöbo. Sjöbo Market has existed since it was founded in 1864. The Mikaeli Market maintains the tradition and continues to be a harvest market with food, handicrafts and handmade goods.
The cultural walk in Sjöbo has a section with information about Gamla Torg and Gästgiveriet.
