Blentarp Church offers an independent cultural perspective on the town. The church was built of fieldstone in the second half of the 12th century. Its round tower is particularly striking: Blentarp Church is one of only five churches in Sweden with a round tower. This gives the building a clearly identifiable architectural distinction that goes beyond the general description of it as a historic church.

The altarpiece also contributes its own layer of history to the church. It depicts the Resurrection of Jesus and is dated 1603. Together with the medieval building from the second half of the 12th century, the painting reveals two different historical points of reference within Blentarp Church: the period when the fieldstone structure was built and the later date of the altarpiece. The round tower defines the building’s exterior, while the altarpiece adds an artistic accent to the church interior.
