Culture and History

The Church of St. Christopher in Wallsbüll is an early Romanesque fieldstone church dating from the 12th century. Its furnishings include a Romanesque granite baptismal font in the shape of a chalice, probably created before 1200, a pulpit from the 16th century, a stone altar with a Baroque wooden superstructure from 1730, as well as three medieval figures carved from oak, including Saint Christopher.

Valsgaard is an authentic early medieval farm complex in Wallsbüll, based on archaeological finds dating from 700 to 1100 AD. Guided tours, activity days, and specially arranged programs for school classes and groups are offered there.

The former Wallsbüll railway station was a stopping point on the now-disused Flensburg–Niebüll railway line. Wallsbüll also has a street named Maren Sörensen Weg.

Nature

West of the village, a municipal biodiversity project called Heidelebensraum maintains a habitat along the railway line by removing young trees and stripping away topsoil.

After Jardelund, the Border Route reaches the Frøslev-Jardelund Moor, which is considered an area with rare bird and plant species.

A watercourse in Wallsbüll is said to extend for several kilometers and runs through forests and natural areas. Many of these areas are protected under Schleswig-Holstein nature conservation law and designated as an EU Habitats Directive area; the area's birdlife is appreciated for peaceful walks.

The B199 runs along Wallsbüll. The Wallsbüll motorhome parking area is a gravel parking area on the outskirts of the village, with space for up to eight vehicles and electrical connections.
