Lindewitt: Hotels and Accommodation

Lindewitt Forest Pool is a large natural pond for recreational swimming and swimming laps. It is located in Lindewitt Forest, where grain was milled in the associated old mill building until 1950.

Water and Nature

Lindewitt Forest Pool features a swimming island and floating goals for water polo. There is a separate area for children. A kiosk, changing rooms, sanitary facilities, and indoor and outdoor showers complete the amenities. Free parking is available at Lindewitt Forest Pool.

Hiking Through the Forest

The Lindewitt Forest route begins at the car park of Lindewitt outdoor pool on Mühlenweg. It initially leads south of the outdoor pool to Lindewitt Watermill before entering the forest. The route's attractions include Lindewitt Forest, Linnau, Lindewitt Watermill, Lindewitt Forest Pool, and the Lindewitt Bakery Museum. The circular route is 4.4 kilometres long.

Landscape and History

Lindewitt Forest is a mixed woodland dominated by beech and oak trees; Norway spruce, Douglas fir, and silver fir also grow there. The forest is home to the monument to the Countess of Blücher. Legally protected wetland biotopes lie along a meandering diversion of the Linnau.

The Bakery Museum presents 100 years of baking history. A local history museum in the bakery's attic contains additional exhibits, pictures, and documents. The Bakery and Village Museum displays a complete bakery with equipment that is more than 100 years old. It includes a flour mill from 1930, a dough divider from 1900, and a kneading machine from 1920.
