Culture
The basilica was built before its first documented mention in 1197. Its furnishings include a bronze baptismal font from the 13th century, an altar dating from the mid-18th century and a Sauer organ from 1901.
Gut Hasselburg is an 18th-century estate complex in Altenkrempe and serves as a venue for concerts of the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival. The symmetrical estate complex has been preserved, including two barns, two cavalier houses, a gatehouse and a manor house. The manor house contains a Baroque hall with illusionistic ceiling paintings. The thatched barn is used for cultural events and musical productions. A designated accessible parking space is available near the Gut Hasselburg concert venue.
Gut Sierhagen is mentioned as early as the 12th century.
Mill
Guided tours of Hasselburg Mill can be arranged for small groups by prior appointment. The annual Mill Day includes a guided introduction to the mill and its technology.
Nature
The Kremper Au is a 191-hectare FFH protected area. The designated landscape includes a larger lowland grassland area near Altenkrempe, as well as streams, spring habitats, beech forest and an alder-ash alluvial forest.

The Palmenhaus Café is located directly next to the old Sierhagen estate tree nursery; parking is available on site. The café in Altenkrempe serves homemade cakes and gateaux as well as small savoury dishes. Gluten-free, vegan or lactose-free alternatives can be provided on request.
