Kasseedorf: Hotels and Accommodations

At the eastern edge of Kasseedorf lies the approximately 132-hectare Kasseedorfer Teiche nature reserve. Within a small area, it combines ponds, streams, small wetlands, spring fens, dry grasslands, open meadows, and woodland into a varied landscape.

Nature

The observation platform at Oberteich offers opportunities to look out for the emperor dragonfly and the kingfisher. The nature reserve is home to 60 recorded breeding bird species, including the crane, western marsh harrier, goosander, eagle-owl, and wryneck.

Hiking and Cycling

Located directly on the E1 long-distance hiking trail, a trekking stop can be found at the Alte Försterei. It includes a renovated bakehouse that can be booked in advance, with basic sleeping accommodation in the attic, as well as a camping meadow. The facility is intended for hikers and cyclists; stays are limited to a maximum of one night.
