Widlino lies along the Radunia River, amid the fields and forests of the Kashubian Lake District. The “Szlak Wzgórz Szymbarskich” hiking trail passes through the village along the Łapino–Widlino–Sulmin section.
Nature
A glacial erratic in Widlino is protected as a natural monument. The stone has a circumference of 17 m, is 6.2 m long, 4.5 m wide and 1.10 m high. It lies along the path leading from plot no. 61 to the fields, 300 m from the buildings.
The so-called “Diabelski Kamień” stands near Widlino’s old cholera cemetery.
Hiking and Cycling
As the footbridge over the Radunia is still missing, the current route of the “Szlak Wzgórz Szymbarskich” hiking trail runs through Sulmin, Niestępowo and Widlino.
The “Żukowska Eska” cycling route is of medium difficulty and runs along Kashubian gravel roads, field paths and forest tracks. In Widlino, cyclists can take a detour of a few hundred metres from the route to visit the “Zaklęty Kamień”.
History
Widlino was first mentioned in historical records in 1311. At that time, Karol z Trewiru granted the village knightly rights.
