Voerså between harbour, beach and nature

The Voerså–Stensnæs Route begins at the harbour in Voerså. It is 10 km long, runs along the protected Stensnæs Nature Reserve and passes through the distinctive Østerbyen area. The route connects the harbour of Voerså with the nature reserve and the Østerbyen area. Along the way, a natural area with a diverse birdlife and a distinctive local area lie next to the harbour. The 10 km therefore provide a clear framework for planning the day. Beach, pier and water sports

Voerså Beach adjoins the harbour along the southern pier. It is suitable for windsurfing. When collecting beach finds, you can find, among other things, razor clams, common pelican's feet, purple snails, crabs and sea snails. This means that the southern pier area offers both an opportunity for windsurfing and specific finds from the shore zone along the same stretch of coast. When collecting, attention is focused on individual beach finds, while windsurfing is also possible on the same beach.

Birdlife at the harbour

The Voerså–Stensnæs Wildlife Reserve protects marine and land areas near Voerså and Stensnæs as a resting and feeding ground for waterbirds. The birds in the Stensnæs–Voerså reserve can be observed from a birdwatching tower at the harbour of Voerså. The tower at the harbour thus provides a specific starting point for observing waterbirds in the protected area. Canoeing on the Voer Ã…

Canoeing is possible where the Voer Å flows into Voerså. Voerså Kanoudlejning offers four routes, all of which end at the harbour of Voerså. At Riverside Voerså, pedal boats, rowing boats and canoes can be rented. This provides three specific reference points for planning your time on the water: the mouth of the Voer Å, the harbour as the endpoint of the four routes, and Riverside Voerså with pedal boats, rowing boats and canoes. The Voer Å also has good stocks of, among other species, sea trout and brown trout, which are maintained through stocking measures.

Getting to know Strengsholt Mose in practical terms

Another natural area is Strengsholt Mose. Access is via Holtbjergvej and Voerså Hedevej; after crossing the Strengsholt Bæk, park on the left by the forest track. The bog contains raspberry and blackberry bushes as well as bog myrtle. The narrow paths are lined with blackberry bushes; long trousers and wellington boots are therefore recommended for a visit. The two road names and Strengsholt Bæk provide the specific landmarks for finding your way there.
