Between forests and open countryside lies an appealing landscape regarded as a tourist asset of the region. Nature observation, physical activity and historic sites provide different points of focus. Several themes that are interconnected within the Amt can therefore be considered when choosing the right holiday focus.

Nature among forests, open countryside and lakes

The Große Koblentzer See offers a special nature experience in autumn. Guided walks are offered there to observe the geese and cranes stopping over. This combines travelling on foot with a clearly defined seasonal focus. The time of year is part of the experience, as it directs attention to resting birds. For cyclists, the WindradTour on the Berlin–Usedom long-distance cycle route begins in Nieden. Alongside the walk, this provides a designated long-distance route for actively exploring the landscape. The two options have different focal points: at the lake, the focus is on observing wildlife and walking; from Nieden, it is on combining the experience of the landscape with cycling.

Culture and historic sites

Groß Luckow is home to a Gothic church with wall paintings. Its altar is protected as a historic monument. Groß Luckow also has a renovated manor house with a park. Sacred art, protected historic features and the park therefore represent different aspects of the history of the village. The themes are clearly distinct: the wall paintings define the church interior, the altar has its own protected-monument status, and the manor house is complemented by the park. This creates a cultural focal point in Groß Luckow that brings together religious art and a historic estate.

Bröllin Castle is a historic manor estate. It hosts presentations by artists in residence, festivals, workshops, concerts and cinema events for different age groups. The cultural programme thus ranges from artistic presentations to event formats with different focuses. This breadth is significant when planning the timing and theme of a cultural stay: a festival offers a different experience from a workshop, concert or cinema event. At the same time, the programme is aimed at different age groups, thereby broadening the cultural perspective of the site.

Jatznick and the Brohmer Berge

In Jatznick, its location in the Brohmer Berge terminal moraine area contributes to its recreational appeal. The forest festival grounds and the seed kiln are among the recreational facilities and attractions there. Klein Luckow is also home to the Max Schmeling Memorial. Another landmark of the municipality is the “Storchenturm” (“Stork Tower”), a former cement kiln. The landform, the memorial site and the regionally distinctive attractions give Jatznick a distinct focus within the Amt. The Storchenturm in particular combines its present-day perception as a landmark with its former function as a cement kiln.
