Culture and History

Groß Luckow Manor House was built in 1912 in the Neo-Baroque style and was the ancestral seat of the von Raven family. Today, the manor house offers a holiday residence with five bedrooms as well as event rooms on the ground floor.

The Gothic fieldstone church in Groß Luckow was built at the end of the 13th century and features wall paintings. In Groß Luckow village church, most of the interior furnishings from the 17th century were preserved. The altarpiece dates from 1623. In 1918, the village church was given a square, plastered tower structure and an Art Nouveau interior design. The ceiling painting depicts the Spirit of God as a dove in a halo. The cemetery in the churchyard of Groß Luckow village church is enclosed by a fieldstone wall.

The estate of the village also includes the former washhouse, the barn and the stable buildings; they remain protected historic buildings.

Landscape

A landscape park, laid out in the 19th century, adjoins Groß Luckow Manor House. The avenue leading to the manor house, which had been lost during the GDR era, was replanted. Nearby Lake Demenz offers a place to relax during the summer months.
