Mölschow is located in the northern part of the island of Usedom and belongs to Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The village lies between Zinnowitz and Wolgast, as well as between the Peene River and the Baltic Sea coast. This gives it a clearly defined location between the island’s interior, river landscape, and coast.
Geographical Location
Federal Highway 111 runs through Mölschow. The village is also served by the Bannemin-Mölschow stop on the Züssow–Wolgast–Heringsdorf–Swinemünde railway line. The Wolgast–Mölschow–Trassenheide cycle path runs through Mölschow; a connection branches off from it toward Karlshagen and Peenemünde.

Culture and History
The Peenemünde power plant, the Peenemünde oxygen plant, and Test Stand VII Peenemünde are located in the surrounding area of Mölschow. The history of the village dates back to the 19th century: Mölschow became a domain in 1815 and was auctioned in 1824 as the Royal Mölschow Vorwerk. In 1929, a major fire destroyed almost the entire estate courtyard and nine farmsteads.
The name Mölschow is said to derive from the lake “Molcekowe.” This lake was first mentioned in a historical document and is located north of the village.
