Raben Steinfeld is located on the southeastern shore of Lake Schwerin, north of the Lewitz lowlands. The town lies between Lake Pinnow and Lake Schwerin on a watershed, where Lake Schwerin is higher than Lake Pinnow.
Geographical Location
Raben Steinfeld is situated on Federal Highway 321 and near Federal Motorway 14.
Nature and Landscape
Almost half of Raben Steinfeld is forested and forms part of a nature and landscape conservation area. Flakenwerder and Kaninchenwerder are located nearby. The surrounding area also includes Swan Island and Tannenwerder (Dead Island).
Culture and History
The former hunting lodge in Raben Steinfeld was converted into the grand ducal summer residence of Mecklenburg-Schwerin in 1886–1887. Historic stud farm keepers’ houses from 1863–1869, built in the neo-Gothic Scottish style, have been preserved along Leezener Straße.
