Langen Brütz is a municipality in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Germany. Langen Brütz is located about ten kilometers east of Schwerin; Brüel and Crivitz are among the surrounding towns.

History

Langen Brütz was first documented in 1335, and Kritzow in 1317. Burial mounds and stone graves indicate earlier settlement of the area.

Richenberg Castle near Kritzow on the Warnow was the residence of Prince Pribislaw I of Parchim-Richenberg from 1248 until his deposition in 1256.
