Neu Gülze: Hotels and Accommodations

Neu Gülze airfield is located in the Mecklenburg Elbe Valley Nature Park. Five minutes east of it, the Schaale River flows; it is deep enough for swimming.

Neu Gülze has a gliding airfield connected to the Schaale Nature Reserve. Guest glider flights last 10 to 15 minutes, depending on the weather.

At the Löwenkopf Bridge in Neu Gülze, a relaxation lounger offers a view of the Schaale.

Culture

The village church of Zahrensdorf, a late Romanesque fieldstone church, stands in the municipality of Neu Gülze. A local association is working to halt its deterioration and restore it to its original condition. The west tower was added in the 15th century. Its furnishings include a late Renaissance pulpit from 1634, a Baroque altarpiece from 1750, and an organ built by Marcus Runge in 1912. The Zahrensdorf churchyard contains a monument to the First World War and a war cemetery from the Second World War. A Neo-Gothic mausoleum made of yellow bricks stands at its southern edge.

History

Neu Gülze was founded as an independent village when 13 hereditary leaseholders settled in the northern part of the Gülze fields. The settlers from Gülze laid out the village as a regular street village.

A historic postal road between Hamburg and Berlin ran through Neu Gülze, continuing via Hühnerbusch to Lübtheen, Kaliß, Lenzen, and Perleberg.
