Beach, bay and heathland

Dronningmølle’s coastline features a clear contrast between beach and bay. Dronningmølle Beach is sheltered in Dronningmølle Bay between Munkerup and Villingebæk. The wide sandy beach is bordered by low dunes, and the water becomes deeper only gradually. Rusland adds a distinctive heathland landscape. Rusland is a 260-hectare protected heathland near Dronningmølle. The area is covered with heather, juniper and scattered pine trees. The natural character therefore extends beyond the coast to an open landscape with distinctive vegetation.

The cultural attractions also have clear focal points. There is a wheelchair ramp at the entrance to the Rudolph Tegners Museum, and the entire exhibition is wheelchair accessible. Signposted routes along the coast and through the countryside

There are several routes for active days, each with different purposes and features. The coastal route from Dronningmølle to Hornbæk is signposted with blue cycling route signs for routes 47 and 48. The five-kilometre coastal walk from Dronningmølle to Hornbæk starts at Dronningmølle Station. If a walk by the water is your priority, you can plan this route as a specific option, while the blue signs indicate cycling routes 47 and 48.

The Esrum stream path has information boards with QR codes and a pleasant picnic area. The Esrum stream path is a signposted route to Dragstrup. In addition to the coastal routes, there are therefore paths with information and a designated place to take a break.
