Drejet Beach, south of Spodsbjerg, is 500 metres long and 25 metres wide. It has shallow water and fine sand, making the beach suitable for children. At the diving site, belts of seaweed grow with serrated wrack and bladderwrack, and there are also areas of seagrass. Spodsbjerg Turistbådehavn has 180 berths for visiting sailors and is Langeland’s only east-facing marina. Boats can be rented at the harbour. In Spodsbjerg, you can also rent bicycles, scooters and small boats for fishing. The fishing spot at Spodsbjerg Havn is easily accessible and particularly suitable for fishing with families and children. The combination of harbour, fishing and boat rentals gives the town a distinctly maritime character.

Hiking and cycling around Spodsbjerg

There are six recommended hiking routes around Spodsbjerg starting from Spodsbjerg Havn. The individual routes are approximately 3.4 to 9 km long, offering different options for planning your day. The Ø-camino Langeland starts and ends in Spodsbjerg and is 142 km long in total. For cyclists, the Herregårdsruten leads from the ferry arrival point in Spodsbjerg either north towards Lohals or south towards Bagenkop. The various routes show that Spodsbjerg offers both short paths around the harbour and longer island routes.

Ferry town with a historic side

The ferry crossing from Spodsbjerg to Tårs takes 45 minutes. Spodsbjerg Station is part of the town’s history: the railway station was built in 1911 as one of the terminal stations of the Langelandsbanen railway and served as a transfer point for ferry passengers. Kunsttårn 6 is located west of Spodsbjerg at Pederstrupvej 16a. The tower houses the artwork “Forbundne” by Lotte Kejser. This brings ferry history, island mobility and art together at the same destination.
